RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL
The meaningful term "responsible travel" can relate to a variety of elements of differing values throughout unique destinations in Turkey and abroad.
For Anatolian Adventures the main aspect of responsible travel can be described as:
- leaving no trace of your footprints in nature,
- supporting local people to become involved in the sustainable & responsible travel business,
- leading other travel professionals to expand eco-tourism into new destinations, while assisting in the development of new regions which will benefit most from this ideoligy.
In areas where the level of literacy is low, Anatolian Adventures encourages it's local staff to send their children to school. This has been especially evident in the Eastern Turkey region.
Starting in 2009, Anatolian Adventures transfers 6% of profits earned from each of our guests tour bookings, to the responsible travel & sustainable tourism fund. This organisation supports the education of children in areas of need as well as the conservation of nature.
In 2010, we became a member of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) and adhere to the rules of their Green Program. This program consists of educational and promotional resources that enable travel agents and suppliers to increase their knowledge of travel’s impact on the environment. It highlights to consumers the ongoing commitment of the member agents to keeping travel an environmentally friendly business.
As a Green Member of ASTA we aim to continually operate towards a greener travel business.
