DETAILS
The skiable terrain accessible from the Ayder base covers some 4,500km2. The highest point in the range is Kaçkar Dağı (3937m). Ayder is located in the centre of the Kaçkar range, with Ikizdere to the southwest.
We ski at altitudes of between 1500m and 3700m. The vertical drops for our runs range from 500m to 1400m. To date our run catalogue includes more than 350 descents over varied Alpine ground that is perfect for heliskiing. We predominantly ski above the treeline in open ground but we do still get some great runs through the trees. Thanks to the variety of terrain available here we can take you to the runs you feel most comfortable with.
The nearest heliskiing area to the hotel is only a 5-minute flight away and the bases are 20-25 minutes from each other by helicopter.
Ayder base offers a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, and varied terrain in an Alpine environment. It is also only 5 minutes flight time from the hotel to the nearest run.
The 'Vertical Story'
Vertical metre count
It's the group's vertical metres that are counted.
Daily vertical metres skied are applied to the group as a whole, even for those people that decide to stop skiing earlier in the day.
If a whole group decides to stop skiing earlier than the other groups, then only the actual vertical metres skied are counted. However, if at the end of the week the members of this group have not reached their 20,000 guaranteed vertical metres, any refund will be calculated according to the actual vertical metres skied by the other groups.
Extra vertical metres
You have the choice, once you have reached your guaranteed number of vertical metres, to continue skiing or return to the base.
The evening prior to you reaching your 30,500 vert/m maximum, your guide will ask if you would like to stop and return to the base or continue skiing and pay for the additional vertical metres skied.
If necessary, groups can be changed to accommodate members who wish to continue skiing.
A minimum of 5000 additional vertical metres are counted for every day the helicopter takes off for rotations above those covered by your initial package. This does not apply to the day when you reach your limit of 30,500 vertical metres.
Cost of additional vertical metres: € 98 per 1,000 m
Refunds for vertical metres not skied
Refunds on vertical metres are given if you do not reach your guaranteed 20,000 vert/m owing to bad weather or technical problems. € 80 per 1000 vert/m
No Refunds are given if: You decide to stop skiing in the middle of the day and you do not attain the amount of vertical metres outlined in your package during the week. . You are not here for the 7 days of your package (owing to late arrival or early departure)
Refunds for vertical metres not skied: € 80 per 1000 vert/m
